Philadelphia 76ers

Also known as the Sixers, Philadelphia 76ers plays for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. The team was founded in 1946 but only joined the NBA in 1949. The Sixers have bagged three NBA Championship titles already for the 1954-1955, 1966-1967 and 1982-1983 seasons.

Black, red, gold, silver, blue and white are the colors of the team. Mostly, home uniforms are primarily white jerseys with blue numbers and letterings plus red piping. For road games, the players wear red jerseys with white numbers and letterings plus blue piping. These uniforms started out in 1978. The Sixers logo which was originally in red and blue was changed in 1997 to silver and gold with black and white highlights. Also in that same year, the Sixers wore black jerseys with red and gold trimmings and the word “Sixers” written in the front part.

Players of the Philadelphia 76ers who have become the NBA Most Valuable Player of the Year are Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Allen Iverson. Other Hall of Famers are Charles Barkley, Billy Cunningham, Hal Greer and Dolph Schayes.
