The Washington Wizards based in Washington D.C is a professional basketball team playing for the NBA. When the team was moved to Baltimore, Maryland, they became the Baltimore Bullets. In the 1965 playoffs, their team was able to advance to the western conference finals against The Los Angeles Lakers but unluckily, they lost the game. And then, after other losses in the NBA finals, in 1977-1978 season, the team won their first championship in 36 years against the Seattle supersonics.
The team’s Hall of Famers include Walt Bellamy, Elvin Hayes, Earl Monroe, Wes Unseld and Moses Malone.

The name was changed to Washington Wizards on May 15, 1977. Abe Pollin, the owner of the franchise announced the call for changing the name of the team and a contest was held. The names that came out were Dragons, Express, Stallions, Sea Dogs and Wizards. “Wizards” was chosen and along with that, the team logo and colors were changed too. It was transformed from the conventional red, white and blue to blue, black and bronze. The team has worn jerseys in white with blue lining on the side and blue scripts in front and at the back. There is also the blue jersey with black lining and white fonts.
